Job Description

Credentialing Coordinator . . . bring your credentialing skills to a major healthcare system in Saint Paul where you will perform a variety of activities in this critical role. The Credentialing Coordinator will work Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and earn up to $16 hourly.

Credentialing Coordinator is responsible for organizing, maintaining, and verifying all aspects of the credentialing process for healthcare practitioners.

Credentialing Coordinator responsibilities

  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards
  • Perform analysis of documentation ensuring that applications are processed according to established policies and procedures, identify issues regarding data integrity
  • Review expiable items and ensure practitioner's licenses, DEAs, insurance, certifications, and other expiable items are current, valid, and renewed by their due date
  • Coordinate and process the practitioner reappointment process
  • Interact and communicate with practitioners, clinical council chairs, and various levels of management
  • Assist with accreditation and department of health surveys; attend survey interviews
  • Process and oversee applications for clinical privileges and medical staff membership
  • Process temporary privilege requests and applications for educational experiences and requests for additional clinical privileges according to established policy and procedures

Job Requirements

Credentialing Coordinator qualifications

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Experience working as Credentialing Coordinator
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) preferred
  • Knowledge and skills in data collection, data analysis, and interpreting results
  • Experience with Joint Commission, MN Department of Health, and CMS survey processes
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Medical Staff Standards
  • Strong computer skills, ability to analyze data to interpret and evaluate results, and create reports and/or presentations
